Not many designers dedicate themselves to crafting rocking chairs, often dismissing them as quirky or redundant. However, the Muller Van Severen designers hold a different perspective.
Driven by nostalgia and a desire for balance, they set out to create their rocking chair after their initial success with seats in 2012. The catalyst came when they were preparing for their solo exhibition at Interieur Kortrijk, titled “Future Primitives”.
Under the pressure of the upcoming show, they conceived their iconic seats featuring a leather cloth stretched between two horizontal bars. Building on this design, they crafted the rocking chair, maintaining their commitment to transparency in all their creations. Like their other designs, the rocking chair gracefully navigates interior spaces without overpowering the environment.
Available in a weathered leather that gains character over time, with options for a green, red, or brass frame, or in three distinct color choices with a fabric made from 100% linen, the Muller Van Severen rocking chair seamlessly combines nostalgia, balance, and contemporary design.
